Superchargers - Challenge Curation #9

Updated: Apr 16

Here are three little personal challenges to try in our daily lives as suggested by expert guests on the Superchargers podcast hosted by Daniel Thomas. Watch the full conversations below each challenge.

Business Turnaround Expert - Adrian Knight

"My challenge would be to get up minimum 15 minutes earlier, maximum 30 minutes, and to use that time to read 10 pages of a book. And the book can't be like some romance novel.

It has to be a book that is focused on or around your personal growth, whether that's you want to learn more about better financial management, spiritual practice, relationships, health or fitness. But that book is there to help improve you as a person. But use that time specifically for that, before your day starts, before the craziness of families and work and everything else in between comes up. So maximum half an hour earlier, minimum 15 minutes, gives you enough time to read 10 pages. But use that and do that ideally for 30 days. And just check in with yourself to see how you feel. Because both my personal experience and the people I help has been remarkable. It changes people very quickly in a positive way. And all you're doing is just investing in yourself. You're just giving yourself a bit more bandwidth. So I would really encourage people to try that because it's game changing.”

Human Propulsion Engineer - Nathaniel Turner

"You are not who you think you are. You are not who you believe others think you are. You are only who those you are in a relationship with know you to be. I think that that is a question we should all ask ourselves with anyone we have a relationship with. We should actually ask people 'Who am I?' If you have a child, as an example, I've done this with my son. I said, write my obituary. I want you to write my obituary because you probably will. Because I want to know right now who you think I am, because if I find out that who you think I am is not who I want to be, then now is the time for me to correct that.”

Graphic Recorder - Ashton Rodenhiser

“Just take literally five seconds to pick up a pen and a scrap piece of paper or notes that you took earlier in the week and just do a little doodle on it. Or if you find yourself in a meeting in the next week do a little doodle to see how that feels for you. Let's start there, just experiencing the power of a doodle. Just take five seconds and make a mark on a piece of paper and see how that feels. That's an awesome challenge because it's a baby step and often things can be a bit overwhelming. It's just one doodle. Let's do something that's going to take five seconds and then, you know, maybe you'll get excited about it and want to do more.”
